Folio Wooden Book Lamp
The Folio Wooden Book Lamp from Emberwycks looks like a small hardcover on the shelf and opens into a glowing lantern in your hands. Its pages are made from a tear resistant paper that diffuses the LED evenly, so the light stays soft and shadow free whether you open it partway like a fan or fold it all the way around into a full 360 degree cylinder.
Three lighting modes, warm, natural and cool, let the same lamp move from bedside reading to a gentle evening accent to a brighter working light. The built in battery charges over the included USB cable and runs for up to 8 hours, so the lamp goes anywhere in the house, out to the porch on a cool fall night, or into a bag for the road.
A sustainably sourced wood cover and magnetic closure keep the lamp closed and flat at about an inch thick when it is not in use. It reads as a design object first and a light second, which is why it looks just as at home on a desk, bookshelf or console as it does on a nightstand, and why it makes such a thoughtful gift for the readers in your life.
